If you are looking into a particular piece such as this, than you are likely looking to learn a little more about one of the most impressive science fiction films to ever hit the screens, “Alien”. Surely, there is a good bit that you might want to know and understand to truly appreciate the film, and most of this as well as a plot synopsis is what you could expect from this article.

The first thing that you should likely understand is that this film was by no means the first or even close to the first movie to feature extraterrestrial beings. The idea of humans interacting with these beings and creatures was not something out of the realm of possibility for movie goers. However, you might care to know that there were very distinct differences between the beings of the preceding films and the beings created by the minds behind this franchise.

One of the first and most noteworthy differences between the predecessors and the new revamped ones, would be that these creatures were not just slow moving awkward beings. Rather, they were highly intelligent, terrifying to look at, and even deadlier to be around than anything that might have hit the screen before it.

These were beasts of prey and terror. They had long tails and often walked on all fours. They had rows of teeth and heavily salivate a toxic substance. This was not what people think they saw at Roswell, this is far more sinister and terrifying than that. Not to mention, they are all just peons that work for the much larger, and much scarier queen alien. You don’t learn about these until some of the sequels, though.

It is this crew that the story centers around. They are on a mining expedition to take minerals back to Earth when they are hailed from a nearby planet with a distress signal. But it doesn’t take the crew members Dallas and Kane long to learn that they are not in the midst of anything friendly when they stumble upon a nest of eggs. One hatches and a little alien leaps out and attaches to Kane’s face and refuses to release the hold.

But the little creature is not the one they really need to worry about. You see, they were unknowingly destined to show up on the planet from the company that they work for to get a specimen of these creatures to take back to Earth with them. In trying to escape many of them die, except for Ripley who manages to escape on a shuttle, with a creature still trying to get to her. She ignites the engines, incinerating the alien and allowing for her safe escape.

Powerful performances make this movie a classic. Perhaps the most important of these roles was that of Ripley which was portrayed by Sigourney Weaver. But hers was not the only impressive performance that made this movie so incredible, you might also look for great acting from Tom Skerritt (Dallas) and John Hurt (Kane).

There is a good bit to know about the movie “Alien”, but this should give you a proper introduction to the film. While this movie is quite a classic, you might want to check it out as well as the several sequels to the film that followed after (most of which feature Sigourney Weaver in returning roles as Ripley).

Coppola is a truly unique director in several ways. Perhaps the one thing that really defines him is that he is NOT defined by his gimmicks. When you watch a film by Martin Scorsese, he may surprise you, but you know that you’re going to get some exotic camera movements, some fast paced editing and, if it’s set in modern times, “Gimme Shelter” by the Rolling Stones will play at least once. Apocalypse Now defines Coppola’s unpredictability.

The film is said to be based on the novel Heart of Darkness, and while there are some parallels, it’s really nothing like a direct adaptation. The film follows Martin Sheen as Captain Benjamin J. Willard, a veteran secret operatives specialist who, after his last tour of duty, has apparently taken to heavy drinking and grown psychotic in the meantime.

The only thing he wants is to be put back into action, thriving on the blood lust and having no other purpose in life than to fight. He rots away in his room as choppers fly over head, going stir crazy while awaiting the next assignment.

When Sheen punches the mirror, that wasn’t in the script. In fact, the entire production of the film is a tale of legend, of insanity, of incredible difficult and of more odd and unusual happenings than even occur in the film itself. We could discuss them more in depth, but that would take more time than we have for this review, so we’ll just focus on the film for now.

The movie is simply loaded with unforgettable characters. Without even discussing the main cast, we have Cockroach, a youth from Harlem capable of sleeping through the most intense battle, waking up to launch a perfectly arced grenade at an enemy hiding in the shadows, eliminate him, and go back to sleep. We have Dennis Hopper as a maniacal photo journalist, and Robert Duvall as Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore, a mix of samurai, Patton and surfer dude, sending his men out to hit the waves amidst napalm detonating against the beach.

This is without even mentioning any of the main characters. You could remove Kilgore, Dennis Hopper or Cockroach and still tell this story. Marlon Brando as Colonel Kurtz is, in fact, the heart of the film, despite not even appearing until the final act of the story. Even without appearing on screen until the finale, his existence casts a nihilistic dread across the atmosphere of the movie.

The film succeeds on every possible level. It is endearing, at times, when you see the camaraderie between the men on Willard’s boat. It’s funny, it’s exciting with some of the greatest action set pieces ever put to film, it’s a jaw dropping piece of cinematic art, yet… The pessimism, the nihilism of the two main characters, Willard and Kurtz, eventually takes over and overwhelms every other aspect of the film.

Coppola himself claims Rumble Fish as his personal favorite amongst his own work, but his fans are typically split between Apocalypse Now and The Godfather Part 2. It’s up to the individual viewer, but this one is, at the very least, his most insane.

Parents should admit one thing: they’re reluctant to talk regarding religion in front of their kids as much as they hate talking about relationships. The thing is always that there are a couple of things that moms and dads consider as understandable not until kids are old enough to understand these types of things. Nevertheless, you have to think that it’s not all that there is when it comes to existence. And you should in no way undermine how children think mainly because with a tiny exposure, their inputs are incredibly sharper than what normal grown ups could think about. Rather than concealing these types of things from your kids, you must open up yourself that you would certainly need to expose them to things such as the free children’s church lessons and the like.

So maybe you think that you are good enough to open your kids’ eyes on religion and faith but then if there is that hesitation in you, how will they learn these things earlier? Learn this from you and not from someone else.

Universities are motivating faith and religion although not so much. There are schools which are playing safe and neutral about types of things like these and there are those who are somewhat blunt about it such as exclusive schools. How will you place your kids that they won’t really feel like you are pushing them into something and not preventing them from learning too? What you could do is to make certain that they would be subjected to these things in a way which they will understand and not bombard them. For instance, there are universities which will offer free children’s church lessons to kids. If you’re one that belongs in a religious sect or anything just like that, then perhaps you could expose your children to Sunday and vacation Bible educational facilities. This way, they will have that exposure accomplished in a way that they’re going to appreciate.

It will help that the learning process is likely to be with children whose age group they belong. Even if it is nice for adults to perform the preaching or to encourage the studying, it’ll nevertheless be more effective if they’re to see their fellow kids learn the things which they are learning. Also, it is going to end up being nicer that they are to exchange ideas with the people who think and act like them.

Aside from getting them into church-based activities, you’d need to be more out spoken about your faith as well. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you would have to be preachy since children are always very simple to convince but once they see that you do not walk the talk, they would often follow the things that you do and not the things which you inform them. You might also avail of the free children’s church lessons and employ this with your children. In this way, they’re likely to value that you are there to open these things up together with them. With that, you’d not have to feel uncomfortable and even shy of talking about religion. The family ought to be bound by this so that they may remain together.

Parents can engage their children in joining free children’s church lessons. In this way, the child can mold himself to be a good Christian follower and at the same time, be an obedient citizen of society. You can also try childrens church curriculum lessons.
